Regency Romance Flash

My regency romance flash, Tastefully Done, has been published at The Lit Nerds. I love the image they’ve paired with the story! It makes me want to jump through the screen for a cup of tea and a snack. Yum! I think I need a room (corner? shelf?) in my house that looks as dainty and delightful as this photo.

This first iteration of this story came about through prompts for the NYC Midnight 250 writing contest. It was then revised, and tripled in word count.

In December, I had another regency romance titled Sweet Treats in Unusual Places, at Humour Me Magazine. This one also started as a NYC Midnight entry, this time in the 2023 flash fiction contest.

I’m a huge fan of Jane Austen, and regency romance is my go-to happy place for comfort reading and watching. It’s also where I land most of the time when I get historical fiction or romance as a genre prompt. If I could magically step into any period, this would be it. Though perhaps only in a fictional version that works out extremely well for the women main characters.
